About Olli Hull
Olli grew up in the north of England, Stoke-on-Trent, where art was a form of escapism. The instinct to build worlds between pages never left the artist. As time passed, this feeling only changed shape, from sketchbooks to garments.
Now working from London, Olli is an artist and fashion designer who paints, deconstructs, and rebuilds clothing that already had a life before it reached him. Every piece starts from a place of discardation: a charity shop find, an old wedding dress, a friend’s old work tie. The journey ends with wearable folklore: part confession, part fairy tale, part armour.
His work sits somewhere between the gallery and the wardrobe. Each garment reads like a diary entry, mapping his state of mind against the state of the world. His work uses myth to make sense of the present by creating art rooted in materials from the past.
How it’s made
This isn't a sustainability pledge; it is how Olli has always worked. Nothing enters the studio without a story, and nothing leaves without a new one.
ETHICALLY-SOURCED
Every garment is chosen personally by Olli: charity shops, car boots, wardrobe clear-outs, or gifted by friends and family who know what he is after. Nothing arrives pre-selected.
SUSTAINABILITY
DEADSTOCK
The accessories line is cut from deadstock: leftover ends of fabric rolls that would otherwise go to waste.
UK SOURCED
Printed pieces are produced through small, local UK manufacturers, chosen for their working practices, not their price.
OUR LINES
Olli's demi-couture and commission line: one-of-one gowns, tailoring, and red carpet pieces, built entirely around one person. This is where Olli works most closely with a client, discussing an idea in detail and building a canvas that exists for them alone.
Released in small numbers, a few times a year, largely by commission.
The wider, more accessible side of the studio: hand-painted ready-to-wear, one-of-one upcycled pieces, the accessories line, and ethically produced printed tees. Everything here shares the same visual language as Olli's commission work, built to be found, worn, and lived in with greater ease.
Released more frequently throughout the year, in worlds rather than single drops.
